Role of the PABC
-
Assess the needs of the coalitions in order to adapt its business plan and to define its priorities.
-
Advocate at national, regional and international levels so as to support the leadership of the coalitions and to increase their visibility.
-
Encourage regional collaboration between the coalitions and cooperation between the public and private sectors.
-
Provide a forum to share experiences and best practice at a regional level.
-
Improve the technical capacity of the coalitions to enable them to provide appropriate services to retain their members and to be innovative enough to attract new members. Innovative services could generate additional sources of revenue and access to VCT which would help with monitoring, evaluation, training etc.
-
Reinforce their capacity to meet the donors' requirements.
-
Explore the core competencies of the company members in order to increase its performance via in-kind collaboration in order to support the activities of the coalitions.
-
Encourage the coalitions to diversify their approach and to look for new funding.
-
Help the coalitions to develop tools to support workplace programs, provide guidance, assist with cost efficiency etc
